Nabil Fekir currently playing with Real Betis is linked with Newcastle but is not interested in the move. His price is around 85 million Pounds. Newcastle is showing interest in various players and Nabil is one of them however, he is not showing the interest back. Eddie Howe lined up a move for 30 million pounds for Fekir in January but it failed. After this failure, Fekir signed a new contract with Betis lasting until June 2022.
Fekir has a release clause equivalent to 85 million pounds and Newcastle may have the funds to break the clause. Also, high signing on fees and wages would need to be paid. But this can be done because Newcastle became the richest club in the world. The team enjoyed great fortunes when they finished 11th in the Premier League last season.
Fekir’s abilities
Currently, the player has scored 10 goals and created 10 assists in 47 appearances this season. He has an excellent left foot and has been repeatedly linked to a transfer to the Premier League. He is an attacking midfielder and would suit Newcastle’s system very well. Fekir’s injury problems are at a minimum as he only had one major injury in France and none in Spain so far. This will reassure Newcastle a lot. He has scored 22 goals and 23 assists in 118 appearances for Real Betis and regularly scores and assists in double figures.
Furthermore, Real Betis are aware that Newcastle are interested in Fekir this summer but they will not stand in the way if they came up with a major offer. In the past, Liverpool failed to bring him in 2018, Arsenal has been long admirers of Fekir, and now Newcastle. It is still undecided if this transfer would go through or not.
