With the Premier League coming to an end, more and more Manchester United dressing room leaks are emerging in the media and public eye. According to reports, star names such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood were furious over the service provided to them by the players behind them in the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Manchester United went behind quite early on in the game. Allan Saint-Maximin scored in the 7th minute to hand Newcastle United the lead. Just like most of the Manchester United season, the players were on completely different wavelengths that day too.
The passing accuracy on the day was just 80%. The red devils rescued one point as they were saved by a late goal by Edinson Cavani. The Athletic have reported that the star strikers Ronaldo and Greenwood were ‘erupted’ in anger. The duo wanted the quality of the passes played into them to be better. They also did not want quick balls ‘just for the sake of it’.
This is not the only dressing room leak that has reached the media and public. Some reports suggest that Ralf Rangnick was concentrating more on the background stuff rather than leading his side on the field. While Ralf Rangnick confirmed that he insisted that the club sign a new attacker in the January transfer window. But the club decided not to sign any player without appointing a new manager,
But the Manchester United faithful will be hoping that Erik ten Hag can turn the dressing room around and get the club back to competing with the European elites. They will also be hoping that he can stop the leaks from the Manchester United dressing room.
Erik ten Hag set to appoint a new captain at Manchester United next term?
The new Manchester United manager recently did his first press conference with the club. When asked about the club captain’s situation ahead of the summer. He answered:
“I have to repeat: next season is a different season but I think he did a great job. He is a great player, he achieved a lot, also the contribution to Man United. So I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Erik ten Hag was also asked about the findings of Ralf Rangnick during his time as the interim manager. The Dutch manager said:
“I analyse by myself, I observe and speak with a lot of people but I finally, I will draw my own line.”
