Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Noussair Mazraoui after agreeing terms with the Bayern Munich defender over a move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United and the German giants are believed to have reached an agreement over Mazraoui’s transfer to Old Trafford. The 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils in a five-year deal until June 2029. They have the option to extend until 2030.
The Morocco international is very much keen to get the deal over the line. Though the signing is dependent on whether United can ship out West Ham target Aaron Wan-Bissaka beforehand. The move would see the right-back reunited with his former Ajax boss.
Bayern have been informed the desire to depart the club after failing to nail down a first-team spot in Bavaria. With personal terms being agreed, the former Ajax star is open to a move, with Bayern ‘giving the green light’ to any departure.
Mazraoui would compete with Diogo Dalot for a spot at right-back in Manchester. He is also capable of playing in central midfield, his versatility could be extremely handy for Erik ten Hag’s men. By linking up with his former manager, he is a player the club know well.
Mazraoui’s Background Check!
On 4 February 2018, he made his Eredivisie debut, coming off the bench to substitute David Neres, in a 3–1 victory over NAC Breda. Mazraoui joined the Bundesliga giants in the summer of 2022 after coming up the ranks and making a name for himself at Ajax. Over the last two seasons, he has only managed to feature in 55 matches. Because of the injuries and has contributed towards nine goals.
While his performances on the pitch have been quite good, Bayern Munich do not count on him for the long run and are ready to cash in on him. West Ham United were within touching distance of signing him. But the move collapsed giving Manchester United an opportunity to pounce on. They now seem to be in full control of the transfer.
