Manchester United to lose out on potential transfer

Manchester United Stadium

Manchester United are set to lose out on their next transfer target : Rayan Ait-Nouri, a promising left wing-back from their league rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. United recently completed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee and strengthened their attack. Ten hag has now turned his attention towards the defence of the team.

Dan Ashworth, the newly appointed Manchester United sporting director was given the green light to go ahead with the deal. The Wolves manager hailed Ait-Nouri as an “Utility king” playing different positions and switching up his roles in the field during various stages of the game albeit diligently keeping his back to the goal at all times. His versatility and solid performances have convinced United of his quality.

Due to some recent events, the acquisition of the left back has become a difficult situation for the Reds. The sale of their former skipper Max Kilman, has enabled Wolves to change their minds regarding the sale of Ait-Nouri. The sale of Kilman brought in £40 million and gave a big boost to the Wolves. Now, they do not need to sell Ait-Nouri. This is a bad news for Manchester United because according to GMS sources Wolves are ready to demand a higher price for their coveted new prospect. The possibilities of selling Ait-Nouri are even less since any other player leaving for a big fee would be Pedro Neto, who has potentially reached his peak value and has been at the club for a longer time.

Ait-Nouri could give present Man United left backs fierce competition for the starting eleven

Manchester United’s Tyrel Malacia and Luke Shaw spent most of their season in the sidelines due to injury. The former missed the entire 2023/24 season. Shaw played only 15 matches across all competitions. Ten Hag is eager to improve the left back position by acquiring Ait-Nouri, who would provide cover for the duo. Ait-Nouri made 38 appearances across all competitions in 23/24 season with a pass completion rate of 80.6% per 90 mins as compared to Malacia’s 86.5% and Shaw’s 82.0%. Thus he fits the profile of a United wing back.https://x.com/UEF_Podcast/status/1798325458133803068

Turkey international Kadioglu among other left back options for Manchester United

Ferdi Kadioglu who shined in the Euros is under Ten hag’s radar as well. The Fenerbahce defender is being followed by two other premier league teams. However the arrival of Jose Mourinho could hinder the transfer of the Turkish international to any other clubs. Other options include Bournemouth player Milos Kerkez who has been under United’s radar throughout the summer.
