Manchester United: Ten Hag brings his team, The old dugout leaves and De Jong Transfer

About Football Express UK

Erik Ten Hag has taken the managerial role at Old Trafford. Ten Hag intends to rebuild the United squad into one which fits his “Tikit-Taka” playstyle.

Ten Hag has brought in his team which includes the likes of Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren. However, there have been rumors that the previous coaches will be leaving including the likes of Mike Phelan.

Mike Phelan is a club legend as he has been able to win the 3 Premier League titles, two League Cups, and a Club World Cup. Moreover, he also knows how to coach big players including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, and much more.

However on the other hand he was unable to manage the big egos of United during Ole and Rangnick’s tenure. Phelan is also indirectly responsible for United’s downfall this season as many players have been unsettled and been leaking confidential information about the squad.

Whether Mike Phelan remains or not, he will still remain a club legend and his legacy will be untethered.

Ten Hag rates De Jong highly

Ten Hag intends to bring in Frenkie De Jong to Old Trafford. United have lacked in the midfield department ever since Ander Herrera left the club. Moreover, the midfielder at United lacks the quality to control the midfield.

In fact, United have had the worst season since Ferguson left as they finished 6th with 58 points. The shocking fact is that they have a “Zero” goal difference. This essentially means United scored and conceded the same amount of goals in the Premier League.

De Jong could bring much-needed structure into the squad and could help control the midfield. He has not had the best of time at Barcelona however a reunion with Ten Hag could potentially help De Jong find his best form. Moreover, his best form can help United get back to the top.
