Manchester United target breaks silence amid links of move to Old Trafford

About Football Express UK

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for former Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata in the transfer window this summer.

The Red Devils began their Premier League campaign with two successive losses in their two games this season. United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his frustration after the dismal performance by the side against Brentford in the second match.

Moreover, reports of Cristiano Ronaldo making a move away from Old Trafford has made the gaffer turn to the market. One of the names discussed among the board is Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as United are pushing for the move.

While Manchester United continue their pursuit of the former Chelsea forward, Morata has cleared the air on the exit links. Morata in an interview with Sky Sports broke his silence on the speculations of a move to Old Trafford.

He said-

“Speculation over my future? It’s what comes out in the press, I just wanted to work and work.

“Atletico are one of the best clubs in the world. If there’s a market, I can’t do anything, just work.

I’m happy here and I want to continue working.”

“I really want to play here, work and play in many competitions,”

“I’m excited to be here, as always, I can only work and run for the team in every game.”

Undoubtedly, the statements may not boost the United fans but the club will surely bring in a forward this summer. The Red Devils are looking for a suitable profile who can fit well under ten Hag’s management for the season.

The red side of Manchester will hope to turn their fate in their forthcoming match against Liverpool which will be a test. However, it will be interesting to see if the gaffer can pull some strings and bring a quality forward.
