Manchester United rival Barcelona in a bid for Leeds United Winger

Arsenal

Manchester United have submitted a bid for Leeds United winger Raphinha to hijack the deal from Catalan giants FC Barcelona.

According to the Spanish media, the Red Devils have shifted gears to sign a forward this summer. United wants Raphinha and the Red Devils have submitted a bid that cannot be matched by the Catalan club.

With Manchester joining the race, things have gone slightly out of hand for Barcelona considering the financial situation. However, the winger’s agent Deco does not seem too pleased with the offer and only wants the player to move to the Spanish League.

Moreover, Deco has given his word to the President of Barcelona that Raphinha will don the Blaugrana colors next season.

A Final Twist for Manchester United?

Fans of the Old Trafford club would hope to secure the services of the Brazilian winger. Despite the investment in a new manager to bring about a ‘revolution’, United have had zero transfer activity as of yet.

Assuming the winger moves to Barcelona, this would be the third loss in the attacking front for United this transfer window. Erling Haaland joined Manchester City and Darwin Núñez will play at Anfield with both linked to Manchester United previously.

While United will hope to pull off this transfer, a twist appears to be on the cards and not a good one for the Red Devils.

Arsenal have now joined the race as favorites with Goal reporting that the winger could join the Gunners this summer. Though United outbid Barcelona in the race to sign the winger, it will now be interesting to see what transpires.

Barcelona and Manchester will need to pace up considering Arsenal are moving in swiftly to seal the transfer. However, the final decision will be made by Raphinha and his agent, who prefers a move to the Catalan giants.

It remains to be seen if Barcelona meets the asking price or backs out of the race for the winger.
