Manchester United on the lookout for Gleison Bremer from Juventus

Manchester United

Manchester United have targeted Juventus defender Gleison Bremer as their preferred signing for the upcoming summer transfer window, as reported by TuttoSport. Despite Bremer’s recent commitment to Juventus until June 2028, his impressive form has sparked speculation about a potential move.

According to TuttoSport, manager Erik ten Hag encouraged United to pursue a physically robust defender with strong anticipation and ball-playing skills. They see Gleison Bremer as the perfect fit for their defensive needs. A preliminary meeting between United and Juventus is what everyone accept in the near future.

Will Juventus let go of Gleison Bremer?

Having acquired Bremer from Torino for €50 million, Juventus is unlikely to consider anything less than €70 million. That is to approve his transfer during the summer.

This season, the 26-year-old has primarily featured in the center of a three-man backline for the Bianconeri. With an 86 percent passing accuracy, Bremer’s defensive capabilities have stood out. He averages four clearances and 5.1 ball recoveries per game.

In addition, the former Torino player averages 1.4 tackles won and wins five duels per game on average. His physical and aerial abilities appear satisfactory to the demands of the Premier League. United views Gleison Bremer as an ideal target and may initiate negotiations in the coming months to get hands on him before pre-season.

Meanwhile, his potential arrival may coincide with a departure, with Raphael Varane currently having a contract expiring at the end of June, worth €397,000 per week.
