Manchester United have reportedly drawn a three-man shortlist for their midfield in the January transfer window.
Currently the Red Devils have Donny Van De Beek, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard with uncertainty whether they will stay or not.
According to the Manchester Evening News ,United can possibly hold talks with Franck Kessie , Boubacar Kamara and Denis Zakaria. All three players are out of contract in the summer and can possibly join other clubs.
Zakaria especially has already revealed that he is not going to continue in the Bundesliga anymore.
Franc Kessie is keeping his options open since numerous clubs are interested in him. According to various rumours ,Real Madrid, PSG and Tottenham Hotspurs are also in the race along with United to sign the midfielder.
Manchester United are also allegedly leading the race to sign Boubacar Kamara from Ligue 1.
Which of the three can utilise their best abilities in the United midfield?
It is fair to say that all three midfielders are great in their own respective ways but Zakaria seems to be the perfect fit in midfield for Manchester United.
Manchester United have had defensive issues and many other separate issues with the players mentality as well. The fans often claim that the players are not willing to give it their all for the badge.
The performance of Phil Jones has sparked positivity amongst the club. Zakaria on the other hand is the missing piece for United. He is a sound defensive midfielder as well as a centre back.
Fred has recently stepped up his performances but Zakaria is still a better fit. Zakaria’s presence will help the Manchester United midfield in defense as well as allow Pogba to play in a free role. Paul can play and utilise his offensive abilities to his best like he does with Kante in the France National team.
Denis is a quick defender who can easily make up ground and dispose of danger. With him in the midfield, United will be better defensively.
