Manchester United: Matic sends farewell message ahead of the final game

Nemanja Matić

Nemanja Matic announced his departure from Manchester United about a month ago. The Serbian midfielder has played for Old Trafford for the last 4 years however hasn’t managed to win any silverware. However, Matic is a fan favorite at the Theatre of Dreams and will be remembered for his service in the coming times.

Matic gave his farewell message ahead of the game against Crystal Palace.

“Yeah, I just want to say thank you for the fantastic support, I know that we have had a couple of difficult seasons but I just want the fans to know that, at the training ground, we’re doing our best, and United will come back, for sure. It’s going to take some time but United will be back. Keep supporting the team. Stay together.”

Matic came to United during a rebuilding period and has given his best for United every time he was on the field. However, his age was always a concern as his legs started giving up on him in his second season. This has caused Matic to only play once a week. Although, he has bossed the midfield every time he came on the field. He has been the defensive midfielder at the club at 33 years. He has been better than his younger counterpart Scott McTominay. Matic will be missed once the season ends and he leaves the club.

United offers a contract to Charlie Savage

In other news, Manchester United have offered the contract to Charlie Savage, Son of former Premier League footballer Robbie Savage which he accepted.

Savage spoke about his excitement and gratitude in an Instagram post.

“Great way to end an amazing season. Delighted to sign a long-term contract with this special club. Thank you to my family for their support, without them this would never have been possible. Time for a short break before going again and giving everything to keep pushing forward.”
