Everton to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United.

About Football Express UK

Everton has added midfielder Jesse Lingard to their list of targets.

The 28-year-old is linked to a move away from the club. He is in search of regular playtime. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not played Jesse Lingard at the start of any game. According to Football Insider, the toffees want him in January.

Everton has been also linked to many other attacking midfielders. Isco Alarcon was also linked but nothing happened. The toffees have already signed James Rodriguez and the signing of England international will help them.

What went wrong for Jesse Lingard?

Jesse Lingard spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham. He has been with Manchester United since the age of 7 but is stuck in an uncomfortable situation. Manchester United fans are very demanding and some rather toxic on social media. Lingard’s form has been spiralling for a long time and he has received a lot of hate. Many fans claim that Jesse Lingard only lives off of his FA cup final performance against Arsenal.

Jesse Lingard falling out of form seems normal but that is not the case. The England international has recently opened up that he is facing personal issues. He is suffering because of his mother’s ill health. He also has to take care of his siblings and his one-year-old daughter. Jesse Lingard has opened up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is improving. He stated that the conversation felt positive and he is on his way back to redeem himself.

Things took a bad turn for Lingard in a Champions League match against Young Boys. He made a terrible back pass resulting in United conceding a goal in injury time and losing. Yet again on a positive note, he was the hero against West Ham. He scored a vital goal against them to seal the win for the Red Devils. Lingard’s career with Manchester United has been rather inconsistent. Despite trying to redeem his career at United, it seems likely he will have to leave.
