Manchester United decide against selling Antony Martial

About Football Express UK

Manchester United are said to have made a decision regarding Antony Martial. However, The decision is that they would not be selling the Frenchman this season after Juventus had shown interest in the player.

The 26-year-old striker was let out on loan in January this year to play in Spanish club Sevilla. However, This move came after his long spell of a goal drought in a United shirt. This had led him to fall off from the Red Devil’s starting lineup. He continued to be left on the bench match after match. Therefore, in the first half of the previous season, he only got to play two matches for the English powerhouses.

After moving to Sevilla his fortunes did not recover. He fell off the pecking order from the Spanish team as well. Since this led him to get only 12 matches in the latter half of the La Liga campaign where he could score only a single goal.

Juventus to be upset after Manchester United stance change

After his brief spell ended at Sevilla he returned to Old Trafford. Moreover, he was expected to be sold off during this transfer window. However, now the Mirror reports that Martial’s excellent performances in the pre-season convinced Erik Ten Hag to change his decision.

From the four games that Martial played in the pre-season, he scored three goals. He had a very good link-up with Jadon Sancho. Now Ten Hag is convinced that Martial should stay at Old Trafford this season.

However, this change from United is bound to disappoint Juventus. Meanwhile, It is said that Juventus were targeting Martial to replace Alvaro Morata. Morata has returned to Atletico Madrid this season after his two-year-long spell at the Allianz stadium. Martial would get a chance to show his capability against Atletico when they meet them at a pre-season friendly this weekend.
