Manchester United confirms pursuit of Brentford midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Manchester United have confirmed their interest in Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen and have submitted an offer as per reports.

Christian Eriksen has been a subject of interest for the Red Devils and the club has submitted an offer. Making a comeback to the English top-flight, the midfielder has had an impressive season with the Bees.

Manchester United have confirmed their intentions to sign Eriksen to his agents this summer. However, numerous clubs across the Premier League have kept tabs on the midfielder.

Tottenham are also looking to make an offer to plot a reunion for Eriksen before the pre-season begins. Moreover, his current club Brentford are also in the race to extend his contract.

Eriksen to join Manchester?

With no signings made yet, United boss Erik ten Hag is looking to make his first summer signing possible soon.

Eriksen has projected excellent performances with his national and club team proving to be a vital member of the squad. Moreover, United could do with the midfielder’s ability to break down the opposition’s backline and create chances to score.

As United is in need of a strong midfield, Eriksen’s inclusion could prove to be worthy of the experience and quality he provides. Moreover, the Red Devils lacked creativity on the pitch this season which cost them on many occasions.

Eriksen could help solve most of the issues if not all along with the likes of Van de Beek, Elanga, and Bruno Fernandes. Fortunately for Manchester, the N17 club’s priorities are to reinforce their defence and forward.

This essentially means that Tottenham would have to pull out of the race to sign Eriksen. However, Manchester have an edge over the other clubs despite not playing Champions League football next season.

However, the final decision by the attacking midfielder will be made in the coming days. United will hope to secure the services of an experienced midfielder this summer.
