Squad in a good mindset

Bruno Fernandes talks about the new play style under Erik Ten Hag and what has changed after a forgettable season. Fernandes believes the team is in a good place and can achieve great things.

“We are obviously feeling good, the result will help with that and we are playing good football. There are a lot of things to improve on yet, but we have time to do that and be ready for the first game of the season. We have been much more aggressive now and the three guys up front have been much more aggressive in the way they press and they are strong too.

We have been much more aggressive now and the three guys up front have been much more aggressive in the way they press and they are strong too, We are much fresher to do that, and we have freedom when we recover the ball, because we get to teams and, when they recover, they are really wide. There is loads of space in the middle and, as you said, we are much better on the ball too.”

Moreover, Fernandes also spoke about the United forwards need to keep on scoring once the season starts.

“We all know that everyone wants to score goals, but the main ones have to be the strikers. They know that they have to be there to score goals and they are doing really well. We have to keep supporting them in making them happy because we know that they lead from the goals.”
