Manchester United are on the cusp of signing this defensive talent from Brighton

In an official announcement last week, Brighton said that their defender Maya Le Tissier would part ways with the club.

Now, it looks increasingly apparent that Tissier would be joining Brighton’s WSL rivals Manchester United in the coming weeks.

The English international who plays at the U-23 level is one of the most impressive talents in the WSL currently. She is expected to make the cut for the senior national team, very soon. The 20-year-old youngster has now spent four seasons at Brighton. Moreover, she has been groomed very well under the able guidance of ex-England manager Hope Powell.

It is known that the Red Devils have agreed to pay the defender a fee in the range of £50,000-£60,000.Le Tissier was born on the English Channel island of Guernsey.

Moreover, she was instrumental in Brighton’s seventh-place finish in the WSL last season.

Brighton signed a new midfielder last week

In the previous week, Brighton announced the signing of attacking midfielder Veatriki Sarri on a deal that stretches to two years.

The 24-year-old midfielder joins the club after playing for Birmingham City for three long years.

Hope Powell was all praise for the young midfielder:

He said,

Veatriki adds good quality to our forward options.”

In our three games against Birmingham last season I was really impressed with her, she stood out.”  

The Greek had a fairly good season with Birmingham where she scored three goals for the club.

Moreover, she was also awarded the Blues’ Goal of the Season winner. The goal was scored by her against Sunderland in the Vitality FA Cup.

Speaking about Brighton she said,

Brighton is a club with great ambitions, I am really excited to be a part of the club.”
