Manchester City vs Liverpool: Preview and Predicted Line-up

Liverpool

Liverpool will be travelling to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening to face off Manchester City in a title-deciding encounter in the Premier League.

Both teams are coming into this game off the back of a crucial victory in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg. The Citizens defeated Atletico Madrid by 1-0, while the Reds overcame the challenge of Benfica by 3-1.

These two sides met in the reverse fixture back in October where the game ended in a 2-2 stalemate. Meanwhile, the two best masterminds in current world football, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have had a pretty neck to neck result since these two bosses took charge of their respective teams.

They both have won five games each in all competitions. However, the Reds haven’t managed to come away victorious against the Citizens over the past four games and in two of those games they ended up on the losing side.

Meanwhile, on Sunday Liverpool can not afford to lose in order to keep their hopes alive to win yet another league title. Guardiola’s side are currently sitting at the summit with 73 points in 30 games, while the Merseyside club are only one point behind the reigning Premier League champions.

So, a defeat in this encounter might minimize their chance of winning the league. Four points gap should be too much with only seven games in hand.

Meanwhile, Liverpool haven’t dropped a single point in their last 10 games in the Premier League. On the other hand, the Citizens have dropped seven points during the Reds’ great winning run.
