Manchester City have placed their bid in for Kalvin Phillips. They have made the bid official for the defensive midfielder. Manchester City are looking out to replace certain areas of their squad and defensive midfield is one of them.
Manchester City making moves this widow
Manchester City have signed Erling Haaland and Alvarez this window already. Thus they are making good moves in the transfer window. They are now looking to replace Fernandinho who is quite old. He is unable to play the defensive midfield role with efficiency. So now they are looking to buy Kalvin Phillips to fix their defensive midfield issues.
Manchester City have presented a bid of 51 million pounds for Kalvin Phillips. He is a 26-year-old defensive midfielder who plays with Leeds United. He has attracted great praise for his effort and skills. Now Manchester City are in for him and they want to buy him. They have also presented their first bid for him. There is also great news for Manchester City. Leeds United are anticipating that Kalvin Phillips will leave this summer. So they are looking at buying Marc Roca from Bayern Munich.
Manchester City were also said to be in for Frenkie de Jong who is a target of rivals Manchester United. However, they decided not to pursue the deal and move in for Kalvin Phillips instead. He could be a cheaper and better option as well. Plus he is a Premier League-proven player as well. Moreover, Phillips has impressive passing, pressing, and ability and definitely has the traits to orchestrate the game from midfield. Moreover, Manchester United and Leeds United have a tough rivalry between themselves thus the chance of Kalvin Phillips moving there is very low. Leeds are hoping to get 60 million pounds for the player but Manchester City have bid at 51 million pounds. However, if the player is happy to move then they will fall down to that bid.
