Manchester City offering £76m for de Ligt

About Football Express UK

Manchester City are reportedly ready to write a cheque of £76m for the center half from Juventus, Matthijs de Ligt. The defender has been linked with a move away from Juventus even though he has 2 years left in his contract. Chelsea has been heavily linked with the defender but the talks seem to have halted due to the defender wanting to look at other offers, such as this Man City offer, or a reported offer from Bayern Munich. The talks with the Bavarian Club seem pretty serious as well.

Can Man City steal de Ligt from Bayern’s nose?

With the possible exit of Nathan Ake, Man City are looking to add to their defense. Matthijs de Ligt is clearly among their list of targets. Since joining Juventus in 2019, de Ligt has appeared in 117 games, while scoring 17 goals.

That being said, looks like Juventus are not ready to let go of the defender for anything below a 90mil.

Reports also say, that the player has agreed to terms with the Bavarians and wants to join them.

City, Chelsea, Bayern, all of them are clubs who do actually need someone like de Ligt to secure their backline.
