Manchester City legend to leave the club soon

Manchester City Guardiola

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is seemingly leaving the club. According to reports, the Belgian midfielder is set to leave the Sky Blues. According to reports, Kevin De Bruyne has already had verbal talks with the Manchester City board and coaching staff about his exit. A transfer involving Kevin De Bruyne and a Saudi Pro League club has been agreed upon.

He missed a large part of the 2023–24 season due to injury but made a remarkable comeback during the recovery period. Kevin delivered an outstanding performance for Manchester City. He helped them secure another Premier League title. In eighteen league games, he recorded ten assists and four goals.

Kevin De Bruyne has consistently been one of the most important player for Manchester City. He was crucial for them when Manchester City secured the UEFA Champions League title last year.

Manchester City to lose their main man

Kevin De Bruyne is arguably one of the best midfielders ever to grace the English Premier League. Pep would hate to lose out on the Belgian. However, Kevin turned 33 this year and is running out of his contract at Manchester City in 2025. This is the best time to cash in on a player of his calibre. Even for Kevin, this is the time when he can go to saudi and secure his financial stability for generations to come. He gave his take on this situation as well.

Kevin De Bruyne said,

Kevin de Bruyne: “Staying at City? Yes, yes… I’ve read a lot of headlines about a transfer to Saudi Arabia, but I haven’t spoken to anyone.“If there’s a good offer and you tell Pep you want to leave, then it is possible. This may be different at other clubs. But I have never indicated that I want to leave.

“I have more than enough money. But if an absurd amount comes, then it is also for my family, my relatives, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren, and my friends,” he told HLN.

But the Manchester City man also said,

“You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in the last stage of my career; you have to think about that.

For my wife, a new adventure is okay. I have to think about my future.”

He added, “If I play in Saudi Arabia for two years, I’ll be able to earn an incredible amount…

Before that, I had to play football for 15 years and I may not even reach that amount yet”.

“You have to think about what that could mean next.”

Another key player to leave City

Apart from Kevin De Bruyne, Saudi Arabia has reportedly shown interest in the signing of Ederson.

Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “As I recently revealed, there are chances for Ederson to leave Manchester City this summer, so it’s normal to now see goalkeepers being linked with the Premier League champions.

“However, despite links with AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, I have no info yet on a new Manchester City goalkeeper, also because it will depend on what Ederson wants to do.

At the moment, it’s too early to say. Many goalkeepers will be linked with Manchester City now, but I don’t have anything confirmed yet.”

Kevin De Bruyne seems like he is also open to joining the Saudi Pro League. No one will blame him as the money offered will be life changing, even for the highest paid player the in the English Premier League.

It will be sad to see the best midfielder in the Premier League leave the club he established himself in. Manchester City will miss his playmaking and decisiveness. Whatever happens in the future, regardless, Kevin De Bruyne will always be the man who changed Manchester City, along with Pep Guardiola.
