David Ornstein has suggested Manchester City are also interested in a Premier League star Pedro Neto. Arsenal are long-time admirers of Pedro Neto aswell. He enjoyed an outstanding first-half of the season with Wolves. Despite missing nine Premier League games due to injury, the Portuguese has already contributed eight assists for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In a Q&A for The Athletic, journalist Ornstein was asked about the likelihood of Neto moving to Arsenal. And he claimed that Manchester City also have their eye on the wide-man and may make a move very quickly.

No expectation of him leaving Wolves in January. Summer could well be a different story. Man City like him, as do a couple of other big clubs. We know Arsenal have a long-standing admiration,”

Pedro Neto could be the perfect Mahrez replacement for Manchester City

The interest from the Premier League champions will obviously concern the Gunners. Moving to the Etihad Stadium is going to be tempting for any player in the world right now as they have been winning titles after titles.

The Gunners are more of a work in progress right now as well. They are still awaiting the chance to get across the line with this current side so that it will attract big stars as well.

And of course, any right winger moving to Arsenal is facing the prospect of battling with Saka, but Saka doesn’t have a backup as well therefore gametime for a new signing is sort of guaranteed.

But signing Neto would also allow Mikel Arteta to properly rest the 22-year-old for less important games. Arsenal are looking set to be battling on four fronts for several years to come into the future. So there would be plenty of opportunities to rotate inside the squad.

Wolves meanwhile, will be aware that Manchester City and Arsenal both targeting Neto. This will only help them get a massive fee for the talented youngster.
