In a post-match interview, Malang Sarr stated that “It was really good. I enjoyed it. It was a tough game but everything went like we wanted it to because we got the three points. It was tough at the end but we did everything to keep the clean sheet.“
Malang Sarr had not even been included in the matchday squad for Chelsea before yesterday. As Thomas Tuchel’s decisiveness paid off, it was a special night to remember for Malang Sarr.
Positional change for Ben Chilwell due to Malang Sarr!?
With a solid performance by Malang Sarr as left-back for Chelsea, things might take a turn for Ben Chilwell.
Thomas Tuchel prefers to have a defensive system rather than an offensive one. As Malang Sarr made his perfect debut, things might change for Ben Chilwell.
For Chelsea, the defence line seems better suited with Malang Sarr, Trevor Chalobah and Thiago silva.
This implies that Ben Chilwell like Chelsea veteran Cesar Azpilicueta will take up the role of a wingback rather than a full-back. Ben Chilwell has displayed his versatility for Chelsea.
