Luis Enrique is a real contender to become the next Manchester United manager

About Football Express UK

Spain national team manager Luis Enrique has been mentioned as a real candidate to succeed Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United as per the report in the English outlet Daily Mail

The Red Devils are in search of a new permanent manager and either Erik Ten Hag or Mauricio Pochettino were deemed to be the favorites to take charge at Old Trafford. However, recent reports are claiming that the Spanish boss could become the next Red Devils boss.

According to the report, Luis Enrique has admirers inside Manchester United and the former Barcelona boss will be a tempting proposition, given the club will not have to pay a big fee for the Spain manager.

The report further claims that although the 51-year-old is behind in the race to become the next Manchester United manager as Ten Hag and Pochettino are the favorites to succeed the interim boss Ralf Rangnick, Enrique could still beat the other two in this managerial race.

However, the Spaniard’s involvement in the World Cup in winter could be a stumbling block for the Red Devils’ hierarchy to appoint Enrique for the upcoming season.

Will Luis Enrique be a good appointment for Manchester United?

Luis Enrique could be a very good appointment for Manchester United. The Spanish boss won the treble with Barcelona back in 2015. And he also is doing a great job with his national team with a young squad.

However, Erik Ten Hag is reportedly ready to accept the offer from the Red Devils. There is no need to look anywhere else to appoint the next manager. The Dutchman has shown his prowess with Ajax by rebuilding two different squads in a short time. And the 52-year-old is also capable of improving players and developing young talents.

The club’s hierarchy is prolonging the process of appointing the next manager unnecessarily. And this is delaying their plans for the transfer market. Other clubs have already started to make their move for the next season. But, the Red Devils are yet to appoint the next manager.

Manchester United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in November before appointing Ralf Rangnick in December. So, the club’s hierarchy has already spent several months but they haven’t been able to appoint their next permanent manager.
