Klopp

In an interesting turn of events, Liverpool are now set to join the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

It is understood that Liverpool have turned their attention to Manchester City ace Silva as a viable option in midfield. However, the Reds will have to rival Barcelona who are the frontrunners in the race to sign the midfielder.

Silva now an option for Liverpool

After being held to a draw against Fulham in the opener, Klopp was surprised with the performance by his side. Moroever, in an interview, he expressed that it could make sense to sign a midfielder before the transfer window concludes.

He said-

“We will see. A transfer must make sense now and in the long-term.

We have eight midfielders. We still have enough midfielders.

Some players are injured. This isn’t a good situation; I don’t like it at all.

We have to see how we react on that, but for sure not panic.”

The gaffer could make a bid for Silva in the transfer window but understands that the player wants to join Barcelona. Also, the Blaugrana outfit are pushing for his services to land the player at Camp Nou ahead of the new season.

Moreover, Pep Guardiola has opened the doors for the midfielder to leave for Barcelona this summer. He said-

“I would love for Bernardo to continue, but… I don’t know what will happen. Players sometimes have a desire and I’m not a person to stop a person’s desire”.

While Barcelona remains frontrunners to sign Silva, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool pushes for the move.
