Liverpool stars left out of pre-season

March Brighton Liverpool

Liverpool have not included Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Kostas Tsimikas, and Calvin Ramsey in Jurgen Klopp’s initial 37-man squad for their pre-season tour. They are going to tour Thailand and Singapore. The Reds are set to face the Red Devils and Crystal Palace in Asia this week. Later, they return to Europe and take on RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg later this month. Salah, Alisson, Fabinho, and Tsimikas are all absent from the original pre-season tour as they have been granted extended time off. They will join with the rest of the Squad later. Klopp has also revealed that summer recruit Ramsey has picked up an injury that requires treatment.

New Liverpool signing injured

Klopp told reporters, via the Daily Mirror;

“Unfortunately, Calvin is now not training with us in the moment, he has a little injury. Nobody knew, we found it when he did his medical check. Until today he has no problems,”

“But the medical department tells us if we don’t take care for that now, he will have a problem in the future. So, when you are that young then of course he has a long career ahead of him, so we are very responsible in these moments.”

However, the Reds have included both new signings Nunez and Fabio Carvalho along with the likes of captain Henderson, Alexander-Arnold, and Van Dijk for the pre-season tour.

Liverpool’s pre-season squad in full:

Adrian, Stefan Bajcetic, Virgil van Dijk, Fabio Carvalho, Luke Chambers, Bobby Clark, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Leighton Clarkson, Harvey Davies, James Milner, Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz, Rhys Williams, Harvey Elliott, Roberto Firmino, Melkamu Frauendorf, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson, Tom Hill, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Naby Keita, Issac Mabaya, Joel Matip, Tyler Morton, Fabian Mrozek, James Norris, Darwin Nunez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nat Phillips, Andrew Robertson, Thiago Alcantara, Sepp van den Berg.
