Liverpool receive fresh transfer blow ahead of the summer transfer window

Manchester City

Jude Bellingham, one of the most promising young talents in English football, has been making waves in the sport since joining Dortmund in January 2020. Moreover, his performances on the pitch have caught the eye of several top clubs in Europe, including Liverpool FC.

Liverpool are reportedly ‘unlikely’ to sign Bellingham

Liverpool had been interested in signing Bellingham. The club was looking to strengthen its midfield ahead of the next season, and Bellingham’s impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund had made him a top target. However, it is looking more and more and more likely that they will be unable to sign him next summer. The ever-reliable David Ornstein confirmed today morning regarding the English club’s transfer plans.

Liverpool’s tight financial situation and Bellingham’s price tag have made this operation unlikely to happen. Moreover, rival clubs are in a much better position to sign him. With Liverpool not finding a new investor for their club, it is very likely that the FSG will continue as owners next season. This leaves the Reds in a very tight position in accordance with acquiring new transfer targets. This is due to the recent criticism of the FSG being very under-ambitious in the transfer market.

Real Madrid are favourites to sign Bellingham

Along with Liverpool’s poor financial qualms, their dismal performances are another reason why they are unlikely to sign Bellingham. Liverpool are out of most competitions. Moreover, they are struggling to contest for the Top 4. This makes a potential Champions League finish very difficult. Henceforth, Real Madrid and Manchester City are considered to be the favorites to land him next summer.
