Liverpool are linked with a move for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio as a new update emerges on the player’s future.

The Reds are weighing the possibility of signing the Champions League winner this summer in the transfer window for the season. Moreover, Liverpool are facing issues with lack of quality players in the midfield that has forced Jurgen Klopp to make a decision.

The winger who can also adapt to playing as the attacking midfielder could a lot if a move to Anfield happens. His agent, Jorge Mendes has offered Liverpool the chance to sign Marco Asensio in the transfer window this summer.

Asensio to Liverpool?

The player has been linked with numerous clubs across the Premier League most notably Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti did not shy away from speaking on the player’s future. In an interview he said-

“He is a Madrid player and I consider him as such. If he deserves to play, he will play. You have to remember the goals he scored and what he did last season.

You have to wait until August 31 to find out what happens and what he decides,”

Liverpool are currently without Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara as both are out injured and will be on the sidelines. Moreover, with the lack of attacking options, the gaffer may consider the possibility of landing Asensio at Anfield this summer.

With one year left in his contract, the player will be tempted to join another club in the transfer window. Moreover, Asensio has slipped down the pecking order under the Ancelotti, and leaving this summer may be a possibility.
