Liverpool may lose Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea- Fabrizio Romano

About Football Express UK

Despite the reports of Liverpool leading the race to sign Enzo Fernandez, the latest reports claim that Chelsea may sign him.

Fabrizio Romano gave updates on the transfer as he said that the deal is in the advanced stage, and it looks like he will be heading to Stamford bridge.

Romano said:

“At the moment there are negotiations ongoing for Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea will push this week to get it done, it’s really advanced, but it’s not completed yet.”

If Chelsea completes the deal then they will make a record signing of the most expensive player ever in the Premier League.

Although this might be a very sad news for Liverpool as Enzo would have been a perfect sign for their struggling team.

Liverpool and its aging squad

Jurgen Klopp is in his 7th season as Liverpool’s manager and things seem more complicated than he joined the reds.

Liverpool are currently 7th in the league and losing to Brentford by 3-1 is surely a sign of concern. Recently they steal a target from Manchester United as they made a surprise signing of Cody Gapko which will help their wing positions.

However, no one can ignore the average and aged midfield of the team and they surely cannot go one more season without a signing.

Enzo Fernandez was a potential target for Liverpool but the heavy price tag and competition from Chelsea may see them missing on the player.

There indeed are quality midfielders available during the transfer and Reds would love to sign at least one of them.

There are obviously good news for them as Bellingham’s signing looks more realistic than ever. With BVB’s CEO confirming his wish to leave and Bellingham’s link to Liverpool may see the deal take place in the summer.
