Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp hints at Alisson’s sitting out for the next friendly

About Football Express UK

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that their first team goalkeeper Alisson is not a sure starter for the next day’s game against Crystal Palace.

The Athletic quoted Klopp saying that Alisson had to sit out of their last training session because he ‘felt something.’

He added,” Ali was not 100 percent earlier.”

He felt something while warming up so again we will have to see.”

The German coach also said that their forward Diego Jota is also injured.

It was the recap of the injury that he suffered during his international duty in June.

About the Portuguese forward Klopp said,” Diogo, unlucky eh? He had an injury from the end of last season, he trained fully yesterday but got injured again.”

That’s really not cool. Now we have to wait for the results. He had an assessment this morning so we will have to see. It’s in the same area.”

However, Klopp reassured the fans that apart from these two the rest of the squad had no issues.

The 55-year-old said,” I think pretty much all the others are fine. It’s the period of the year when we have to be really careful,” said the manager.

With just three weeks remaining in the Premier League, the Liverpool fans are quite anxious about Alisson’s recovery

Liverpool at this moment can do without Jota as they have the manpower to substitute him.

However, if Alisson’s recovery is delayed it would pose a threat to Liverpool.

The Brazilian ace was a constant presence under the bar for Liverpool the previous season.

Moreover, it is said that it might be the best season that Alisson had with the Reds since his joining the club.

Their backup keeper Caoimhin Kelleher is also currently injured.

Therefore, presently Adrian would keep the goal. Moreover, he has shown himself as a deserving Liverpool keeper.

However, the good news for the Liverpool fans includes that Alisson’s injury is minor. Therefore, it is expected to recover well before the start of the Premier League.
