Liverpool among the other Premier League clubs chasing Raphina

About Football Express UK

Liverpool are reportedly ahead of other Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City in the pursuit of Leeds United’s winger Raphinha. According to the reports.

The Brazilian winger has taken the Premier League like a fish in the water and impressed the Leeds faithful under Marcelo Bielsa. Raphinha made 30 appearances in the Premier League this season, managing to score six goals and nine assists.

The 24-years-old winger arrived in Elland Road less than a year ago from Ligue1 side Stade Rennais. The Peacocks had to spend around €17 million and it has appeared to be an excellent investment from Bielsa.

Liverpool are looking to refresh their squad with some new faces this summer. Diogo Jota was a great coup from Jurgen Klopp last autumn and the Reds are in the market for Raphinha as a backup to Mohamed Salah.

Can Liverpool beat other Premier League clubs in the race for Raphinha?

According to reports, Liverpool are ready to make the opening bid of £32 million for the talented winger. The other Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City are also among the admirers of Raphinha.

However, They have not made any concrete approach yet to sign the winger who still has four years left on his contract. Manchester United’s priority signing is Jadon Sancho and the Red Devils have been trying to bring him to Old Trafford since last year.

On the other hand, Manchester City are looking to explore the possibility of signing Harry Kane this summer. The Citizens have loads of wingers in their arsenal and they are trying to replace departing Sergio Aguero with the England captain.

Raphinha has shown his quality in the Premier League in his debut season. The Brazilian should remain at Leeds and develop under Bielsa. The winger’s game time could hinder if he decides to take a step forward just after a good season.

So, Raphinha has to be wise before making any decisions. Leeds United are on the rise under Marcelo Bielsa. Just after the promotion, the Argentine took the Peacocks to a ninth-place finish. And with some investment, they could be fighting for the European spot next season. So, it will not be a good decision to leave the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa just yet.
