About Football Express UK

Player ratings: Liverpool beat the newly-promoted side Brentford quite comfortably by 3-0 in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp had to field his side without their star men Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane due to their international duties. But, these absentees didn’t affect the Reds play courtesy of the contribution from Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino.

Following this victory, Liverpool moved up to the point table and are in second with 45 points in 21 games, 11 points behind the league leader Manchester City with a game in hand.

Liverpool player ratings against Brentford:

Although the opposition had few good moments to put the Brazilian under pressure, the lack of clinicalness helped the Liverpool man to earn a comfortable clean sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7.5/10

During the absence of Salah and Mane, the youngster had to take the responsibility to create opportunities for the forward players and did extremely well.

Joel Matip – 6.5/10

The Cameroonian displayed yet another solid performance. Made a few forward runs from the defence as well.

Virgil Van Dijk – 6/10

Distribution was excellent from the Dutchman and was extremely calm in defence as well.

Andrew Robertson – 7.5/10

Looked threatening going forward and also provided a great cross for Oxlade-Chamberlain on the second goal.

Fabinho – 7.5/10

Scored the opener and looked after the ball well. Overall a good performance from the Brazilian.

Jordan Henderson – 6.5/10

Led his team very well and also displayed an energetic performance in the middle of the park.

The youngster started the game but didn’t have a great time.

Diogo Jota – 6/10

Had opportunities to score goals but failed to convert those.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7/10

Didn’t perform at his best but scored the second goal at an extremely crucial moment of the game.

Roberto Firmino – 6/10

Did perform at his best but provided the assist on the third goal for Minamino.

Substitute:

Came on to break any transition situations of the opposition. But, there weren’t many from Brentford.
