Liverpool comes away with all three points against Leicester City after beating Brendan Rodgers’ side by 2-0 in a crucial Premier League encounter at Anfield. 

Diogo Jota is the protagonist of this victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side as the Portuguese scored both the goals on either side of both halves. Meanwhile, the Foxes struggled to cope with the intensity of the hosts as they only managed a single on target throughout the game. 

Following this victory, the Reds have kept themselves in line to mount a title challenge. They are currently nine points behind the league leader Manchester City with a game in hand.

Allison – 6/10 

The Brazilian had a pretty comfortable outing as the opposition barely had their moments in front of the goal. 

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5/10 

Defensively he struggled on a few occasions but going forward he showed his creativity. 

Joel Matip – 7/10 

The Cameroonian had a great game. Earned a clean sheet and also provided a great pass on the second goal. 

Virgil Van Dijk – 6.5/10 

It was his attempt that fell nicely for Jota to break the deadlock. And overall yet another solid performance. 

Andrew Robertson – 7/10 

Looked threatening going forward in the first half and displayed a productive performance. 

Fabinho – 7/10 

Liverpool looks much more solid when he is in form. And he had a great game on Thursday night. 

Curtis Jones – 6/10 

Did well in the first half and with the ball, he was very tidy. 

Thiago Alcantara – 6.5/10 

Passing was good and made contributions defensively as well. Overall a great performance from the Spaniard. 

Luis Diaz – 7/10 

Started the game promisingly but faded away a bit in the middle phase of the game but finished the game strongly. 

Roberto Firmino – 6/10 

Yet another below the average performance from the Brazilian. 

Diogo Jota – 8/10 

Scored two goals and showed his positional sense inside the box. 

Substitute:

Mohamed Salah – 6.5/10 

A great cameo from the Egyptian and could have scored a hat-trick if he did not fail to convert those chances. 

Harvey Elliott – 6/10 

Failed to perform at the same level as he did in the F.A Cup. But, it was a decent performance from the youngster. 

Takumi Minamino – N/A 

Didn’t have enough time to influence the game.
