Leicester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion: Preview and Predicted Line-up

Following a defeat in midweek against Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City will go head-to-head against Brighton & Hove Albion in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon. 

Despite leading the game until the 94th minute of the game, the Foxes had to endure a 3-2 defeat against Spurs. On the other hand, the Seagulls will be coming into this game off the back of a confidence-boosting performance against Chelsea

Brendan Rodgers’ side is currently sitting in 10th in the league with 25 points in 19 games. Meanwhile, Graham Potter’s side is in ninth in the table with 29 points, having played two extra games. 

Leicester have lost only three of the last 17 games in the league against Brighton. And they have kept clean sheets in 56% of their games against the Seagulls in the Premier League. Meanwhile, the Foxes have lost the reverse fixture against Graham Potter’s side by 2-1. But, took revenge for that defeat in the Carabao Cup.

Brighton’s earlier victory against Leicester was their first win against the Foxes in the Premier League. Previously, they managed to do the league double over Leicester back in 80-81 and 13-14. Graham Potter’s side scored four goals in the last two games against the Foxes which is more than they had scored in the last nine meetings. 

Brighton is currently enjoying an unbeaten streak in all competitions as they are currently unbeaten in the last six games in all competitions.

Leicester City will be without Timothy Castagne, Wesley Fofana, Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertrand, Jamie Vardy and Jonny Evans due to injury issues. Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Nampalys Mendy are the other names who will not take any part in this game as they are currently away with their national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Seagulls team news:

Brighton will not get the services of Shane Duffy, Adam Lallana, Jeremy Sarmiento, Enock Mwepu, Jason Steele and Yves Bissouma against Leicester. Despite those absentees, the Seagulls played excellent against Chelsea and Graham Potter will be hoping that his side can replicate the same performance in this fixture as well.
