Ever since their unexpected win in the 2015-16 season, Leicester City is regularly contending for the top 4. They also won the FA Cup final against Chelsea in the previous season.
The Foxes will compete with many clubs and will look to sign various players. They will look forward to signing a winger to give Harvey Barnes some competition.
The Cengiz Under loan from Roma did not work well and Ayoze Perez never fit in that role.
Here are some wingers which Leicester City can sign.
Danjuma
The former Bournemouth winger is now playing at Villarreal. Arnaut Danjuma went from playing in the Championship to playing in the Champions League. He has already scored 5 goals in 7 first games for Villarreal.
His most eccentric performance was against Manchester United in the Champions League. Despite Ronaldo’s last-minute winning goal, Danjuma was clearly the most threatening player. Arnaut Danjuma is also Villarreal’s second most expensive signing after Paco Alcacer.
This would be a risky signing for Leicester City as Danjuma has failed before in the Premier League when he was with Bournemouth.
Matheus Pereira
The Brazilian winger played for West Brom last season. He had netted 11 goals and had 6 assists in the previous season. Pereira can play as a number 10 as well or on the right side.
The only issue that arises is the transfer fee. West Brom might ask £25 to £30 million for him. Leicester City is unlikely to make the move for a 26-year-old winger for such an amount.
Phillippe Coutinho
Another Brazilian winger but unlike his poor career at Barca, Coutinho was excellent in the PL. When he was at Liverpool, he was one of the best midfielders at that time. Philippe Coutinho is also capable of playing as a winger.
Coutinho played at LW when he was loaned off to Bayern Munich for a season. Since FC Barcelona are in financial turmoil, it is possible that Leicester City can sign him. The issue arises from his £250000k wages. Whether he is willing to negotiate or stay at Barca under Xavi is unknown as of now. But surely he can thrive again in his preferred role at Leicester City.
