Leeds United 2-4 Manchester United: the Red Devils player ratings

About Football Express UK

Manchester United beat their arch-rival Leeds United by 2-4 in an eventful encounter at the Elland Road.

The visitors were already 2-0 ahead at the interval thanks to the contributions from Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. But, the Peacocks came back into the game brilliantly in the second half and scored twice in less than two minutes. But, in the end, two substitutes Fred and Anthony Elanga scored two more goals for the Red Devils and earned a crucial victory.

Following this victory, Ralf Rangnick’s side is currently sitting in fourth in the league with 46 points in 26 games, four points ahead of the fifth-placed West Ham United.

Manchester United player ratings against Leeds United:

David De Gea – 6/10

Made a few great saves but shouldn’t have conceded the first goal. He misjudged the flight of the ball.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5/10

Got the chance to showcase his talent and displayed a promising performance. Defensively solid and made quite a few great tackles.

Victor Lindelof – 7.5/10

An excellent performance from the Swedish. Defended well and carried the ball forward on several occasions.

Harry Maguire – 6.5/10

Defensively he was assured enough but scored the opener and it will give him a big boost.

Luke Shaw – 5/10

It wasn’t his best game, lost Raphinha on the equaliser and allowed the Brazilian to come inside for a tap-in.

Scott McTominay – 5/10

One of his worst performances since the arrival of Rangnick. Made a few bad tackles and was lucky not to get the marching order.

Paul Pogba – 7/10

One of the best players on the pitch in the first half and showed his passing abilities but faded away a bit in the second half.

Bruno Fernandes – 7.5/10

Scored the second goal and also assisted the fourth. Overall, a good performance but shouldn’t have lost the ball for Leeds equaliser.

Jadon Sancho – 7.5/10

The youngster is setting down in his new surroundings and starting to show his talent as he set up two goals in this fixture.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 5/10

He was anonymous and missed a glorious opportunity in the first half.

Jesse Lingard – 5/10

Started the game for the first time in several months and looked short in match fitness.

Substitute:

Fred – 7/10

Scored the goal at a crucial stage of the game and also showcased an energetic display.

Anthony Elanga – 6.5/10

Missed a great opportunity but eventually scored a goal late in the game.

Came late in the game to see off the match and didn’t need to do much.
