Alexandre Lacazette left Arsenal as a free agent after six years at the club. Lacazette has had rough patches in his last couple of seasons. In fact, the French International was out of touch and Eddie Nketiah was the one chosen to lead the frontline.
Lacazette returned to Lyon after a very poor season and fell out of favor with Mikel Arteta. There were reports that Arsenal were willing to let him go after a horrid season. The reports came out to be true as Lacazetta has indeed left the club. Lacazette returns to his home in Lyon after almost six years.
Lyon has had a terrible start to their campaign as they have lost 3-0 and 5-0 to Anderlecht and Willem II respectively. However, they managed to beat Feyenoord 2-0 with Lacazetta getting on the scoresheet. However, there was visible controversy in the game.
According to reports, Lacazette had got into an argument with the coach Peter Bosz at halftime. Most of the players took Lacazette’s side in the clash. The argument was caused by Bosz’s tactics as the squad was confused by it for the last couple of weeks.
Lacazette is in an uneasy situation
Lacazette has found himself in quite a situation. The Frenchman is longer at Arsenal where they can easily get into the top six. Lyon are a team that have struggled a lot last season ending their season at 8th place without European Football. Moreover falling out with the manager does not help his case and he could lose his spot in the team. Also, the fact that Lacazette has a poor prior season does not help his case of finding a better club.
Lacazette was one of the best strikers in the Premier League along with Aubameyang formed a deadly duo. However, both players are no longer in the Premier League and have moved on.
