Klopp has to beat 103 year old record to get past Man United in FA Cup

March Brighton Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is at his last season at Liverpool. The German manager has communicated his decision of not staying at the club recently. And the Reds are trying their best to give him the best farewell they can. Liverpool lead the Premier League table and are performing consistently in all competitions. However, they face a challenge which they have not been able to overcome in 103 years. The Merseyside club has not won a FA Cup tie in Old Trafford since 1921. And they face Man United in the FA Cup Quarter Final on 17th March. The last time Liverpool won at the Old Trafford in a FA Cup fixture was under David Ashworth in 1921. Since then, they have failed to do so. Klopp also faced a fixture like this in 2021, where he too, failed to beat the Red Devils.

Will Liverpool finally get the better of Man United in FA Cup at Old Trafford

Jurgen Klopp has already broken several records with Liverpool. And he has defeated Man United several times comfortably. But at the stage of FA Cup, in the energetic atmosphere of Old Trafford, it is not an easy task. Liverpool would want to win all the available trophies for a perfect farewell to Jurgen Klopp. The Premier League is already within their reach, the Europa League can be won with commitment, the FA Cup is a challenging trophy. And with difficult fixtures like these, it is even more challenging. Man United are comparatively underperforming this season. They just lost the Manchester derby to Man City 3-1. But with the Red Devils, and the crowd at Old Trafford backing them, against bitter rivals Liverpool, anything can happen. However, Jurgen Klopp needs to be confident and the players need to be committed to get past this 103 year old challenge.
