Kessie to stay at AC Milan amid Liverpool Interest

Franck Kessie is reportedly keen on staying at his current club AC Milan. As a result, it would be a big blow for the English clubs Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old midfielder had a superb season last season as Milan finished at second place in Serie A. Thus, many clubs were in the hunt to sign him but as of now, the deal would be difficult.

His contract would expire next year and the Rossoneri are working hard so as to complete a contract extension.

Kessie happy to stay at the club amidst interest from Liverpool and Spurs

Franck Kessie initially joined AC Milan on loan in 2017 from Atalanta. However, impressed by his performance, he was bought permanently to San Siro. Across four seasons, he scored 30 goals and assisted 15 times in 184 appearances.

Last season, in his 50 matches, he scored 14 goals as well as bagging 6 assists. Naturally, his form attracted the attention of many elite clubs in the world.

However, to end the speculations about his future, he revealed that he has no plans to leave the club. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, he said as follows,

“I want to stay at AC Milan forever. I’m proud of this club and I’m not planning to leave AC Milan, absolutely.”

He is keen on staying at the club “forever”. As per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kessie is keen on extending his contract. Anyways, it would be a big blow for the Premier League clubs Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The former would be ready to launch a deal for the other alternatives for midfield whereas Spurs are nearing a swap deal of Erik Lamela with Sevilla wonderkid Bryan Gil as per Romano.
