Jose Mourinho to rebound, Chelsea should speak with the special one now

Chelsea Mourinho Potter duties

Journalist Felix Johnston has claimed that there is one manager Chelsea are expected to talk to if they decide to sack Mauricio Pochettino. And he’s none other than the special one, the one and only Jose Mourinho.

He took to Twitter to state that there will be conversations with the people representing Jose Mourinho should the job become vacant again at Stamford Bridge.

Pressure has mounted on Pochettino in recent weeks, with the 4-2 loss at the weekend against Wolves the tipping point for some match goers.

It has been claimed that while no decision has been made to sack him at this point, the board are divided over what to do with the Argentine.

This has seen reports begin to come out over potential candidates being sounded out.

Johnston has claimed that one of these is likely to be Mourinho, who of course has plenty of history at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will speak to Jose Mourinho:

He said: “Chelsea want to feel out managers before making a definitive decision on Poch. Preparatory actions being taken. Board are split, with some believing, with the Carabao Cup Final looming. So, it’s better to make a decision after that game.

Xabi Alonso liked, but unlikely with availability. Ruben Amorim also liked. De Zerbi on the list, but not thought to be near the top.

Zidane considered impossible. Mourinho’s people are expected to be spoken to, to feel out the situation.”

It has been believed that Mourinho would absolutely be keen on taking the role should it come up. After he was relieved of his duties at Roma earlier this season.

Some Chelsea fans have already stated just how keen they are for him to take over. He is also a three-time Premier League winner during his previous tenures.

However, it should be noted and remembered how his recent stints in the game have disappointed. One of the most recent occurring in the Premier League with arch-rivals Tottenham.
