Jesse Lingard may have announced his new club on social media

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard has indicated his reuniting with West Ham this season. This was through a cryptic post that he put up on his official Instagram page. Lingard has been a free agent after his contract expired at Manchester United. His association with United has been too long and he was an academy graduate who developed to play for the senior team.

Moreover, he had several loan outings-the most successful of which was with the Hammers last season. The 29-year-old attacker was an overnight hit with the Hammers fans in his short stint with the club. He spent just six months with the club but was impressive in that short period. He played 16 matches for David Moyes’ team within which he scored 9 goals.

However, though there were talks of Lingard being permanently signed by West Ham in January the deal did not come to a fruitful conclusion. Now, it seems that finally, Lingard could return to the West London club again.

Lingard shared a story on his Instagram story which had the image of a takeaway shop called Chicken Run. The shop is located in East Stand in West Ham’s Upton Park. With the story, he included the caption which read: “If you know you know” adding a heart emoji with it.

This could be the most obvious hint of him joining the club this summer.

A number of clubs were interested in securing his signature for this season.

Can West Ham finally sign Lingard this season?

According to the Evening Standard, West Ham were said to be ‘confident’ of making the twin signings of Lingard and Amadou Onana from Lille.

On the other hand, Lingard is also expected to make an official announcement about his future in the coming week.

If he really signs for the Hammers, he would have a task at hand to prove himself at the club. This would prove his worth: he had been vastly ignored by the United management for years.
