PREMIER LEAGUE

Jarrod Bowen the main January target for Liverpool

About Football Express UK

Liverpool is looking to add depth to their attack this January and has identified Jarrod Bowen as their main target. The West Ham United winger has been in excellent form for his side and has previously been linked with the Reds.

The latest news is emerging from Football insiders. As per the reports, Liverpool is very keen to complete the move for Bowen before the January window closes.

However, this will not be easy as Hammers are not ready to let go of one of their key players. The report suggests Liverpool will have to pay upwards of £60 million if they want to sign Bowen.

NEED FOR REINFORCEMENT

The Reds have one of the best attacks in the world led by Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino. However, if any of them are injured, the club does lack a strong bench to make up for it.

This is exactly what the club is going through as both Mane and Salah are off to the AFCON with their respective nations. This leaves just Firmino and Jota as the main attacking options.

Liverpool is currently 3rd in the Premier League and cannot afford to lose further grounds to league leaders Manchester City. Hence they need to address the attack and Jarrod Bowen is a good option for them.

BOWEN TO BOOST LIVERPOOL ATTACK

Bowen has been a key player for West Ham United under David Moyes. He has appeared 82 times for the hammers, scoring 20 and assisting for 15 goals. This season he has 9 assist in the Premier League already and is one of the factors helping West Ham push for the top four places. (all stats taken from Transfermarkt)

The 25-year-old is a right-winger but can also play across the front. He is a decent dribbler and is good at crossing the balls. Bowen is very good at pressing the opposition when not in possession, something that works well with Liverpool style of play.

West Ham will not be ready to sell Bowen especially when they are looking for Champions League qualification. However, for the player, it will be surely a step up as he will be able to compete for titles and develop well under manager Jurgen Klopp.

It is still very early to speculate if Bowen will join Liverpool or not. While the Reds require reinforcement. they have recently been very careful in spending big on transfers. With days still to go for the winter window to close, more development could be seen on this rumour.
