Jakub Kiwior: Arsenal’s Defensive star

Kiwior, often overlooked, played a pivotal role in the victory. He was a defensive stronghold on the left until replaced in the 105th minute. The Polish defender has excelled as a left-back recently, filling in for the injured Zinchenko.

Even after Zinchenko’s return, Kiwior retained his spot.Last night, he impressed with 46 touches and won all his aerial battles (3/3). The 24-year-old maintained control against Joao Mario and Francisco Conceicao.

However, he did make a rare mistake due to tiredness. After Zinchenko entered the game in extra time, Arsenal’s defense seemed shakier. Zinchenko’s error in conceding a corner could have been costly.

We believe Kiwior deserves to be a starter based on his remarkable performances. His current form makes him indispensable to the team.

Arsenal signed Kiwior from Spezia during the 2023 winter transfer window in a deal worth £20m. The 23-year-old put pen to paper on a contract which doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027.
