“I’ve already made it clear to the board”: Richarlison on his future

Richarlison

In a recent interview, Everton and Brazil star Richarlison has confirmed that he has talked to the toffee’s board about his future at the club.

Everton narrowly escaped relegation from the Premier League last term. It was only in game week 37 that the club’s survival was confirmed. The club finished 16th at the league table. They picked up 39 points from 38 games in the Premier League.

Richarlison played a massive part in the club’s survival last term. While the club’s main striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a major chink of the season due to injury and bad form. Richarlison stepped up when it really mattered. The Brazilain forward made a total of 33 appearances across all competitions this term. In this time he had a decent goal return. He scored 11 goals and also assisted five. (stats via Transfermarkt)

The Brazilian star joined Everton back in the summer of 2018 from Watford. He was signed for a transfer fee close to £50 million. But it looks like the Brazilain’s time at Goodison Park is coming to an end. According to reports, Richarlison is looking for an exit from the club in the summer transfer window.

Talking about his future with Everton, Richarlison said:

“I’ve already made it clear to the board, I’ve already talked to Lampard too, with my managers and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.

“Now I can’t talk, because when I talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me, when I talk about leaving I’m kind of speechless.”

Arsenal, Spurs, and Chelsea targeting Richarlison

With Richarlison seemingly on his way out from Everton, fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Spurs, and Chelsea are all targeting the forward. Everton will be looking for a fee close to £50 million for their star forward.

Out of the three sides interested in the forward, Arsenal are the side most desperate for a new striker. French striker Alexandre Lacazette is set to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. While young English striker Eddie Nketiah has signed a new long-term deal with the club. But the club are still in the market for a new star striker.

Richarlison could be the perfect option for Arsenal. He would bring a lot of quality and great tributes to the table. But his on and off-field anticks could force Arsenal away from the forward.
