Harry Kane can replace Raheem Sterling in Manchester City

About Football Express UK

The Premier League champions Manchester City are thinking of bringing Harry Kane in place of Raheem Sterling to their squad.

The English winger is one of the contenders in the list for Citizens offered to Tottenham Hotspurs. He can leave the club and make space for his national team captain Harry Kane.

England’s striker Harry Kane is willing to leave his boyhood club Spurs and wants to join a new club. Manchester City are in top position to sign a deal with him. As their star striker Sergio Aguero has left the club for Barcelona.

However, Kane has a contract till 2024 with Tottenham. If the City is willing to sign him, then they have to pay a large amount to the North Londoners.

In June, Spurs rejected Manchester City’s offer of €115 million. Now, it is believed that Pep Guardiola will be releasing any star player from their squad, in order to sign Kane.

Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahirez and Gabriel Jesus are the four contenders in the list who can be swapped with Harry Kane.

Will Raheem Sterling be an appropriate replacement for Harry Kane?

On the other side, Tottenham’s new manager Nuno Espirito Santo is very keen to keep Kane at Spurs.

Last week Hotspurs new boss said in an interview: “All the conversations that we had, all of the squad that we have available – and we have a lot of good players – I can count on. I am counting on each and every one of them.

I had a lot of meetings, we spoke about a lot of things. But one thing is for sure, what we speak about between us, stays between us.

What I can say about that is Harry Kane is one of the best football players in the world and he’s with us, he’s our player, he’s Tottenham’s player. That can make us very proud.”

Kane told Gary Neville’s YouTube channel The Overlap :

“I think it’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club. I want to be playing in the biggest games. The biggest moments.

Like, this season I’m there watching the Champions League, watching the English teams in there doing amazing.

They are the games that I want to be involved in. I want to be in these games. I hope we have a good enough relationship. I’ve given the club… well, I’ve been there for 16 years of my life. So, I hope that we can have a good, honest conversation and see where we are at in that aspect.”

It will be interesting to see, which colours do Harry Kane represents in the next season.
