Haaland sets the highest ever FPL price ever in history

About Football Express UK

Erling Haaland has broken another record though many might not give much attention to it. The Norwegian striker sets the highest ever FPL price in history. For all the FPL managers and lovers, Erling Haaland will cost £15.0 million to own at the start of the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League.

The Manchester City forward was used most number of times last season by many managers on FPL. His price increased £1.0 million from last season. His value at the start of the previous season was £14.0 million which made him one of the four players to have this amount as their initial value. The other three players were Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Analysing the stats of Haaland in FPL from last season

According to the Premier League statistics, Haaland was the most picked player on the Fantasy Premier League. Most of the managers believed that he was the perfect striker to start in their team who would bring a good number of points. He was picked by 73% of all FPL managers last season. The Norwegian earned a total of 217 points in the previous season which was much less than his debut season where he earned 272 points.

In his debut season, he scored 36 goals which made him the player with the highest number of goals in a single Premier League season. The previous record holder was Alan Shearer. In the previous season, however, he scored 27 goals. Still, he won golden boots in both the seasons and plans to do a hat-trick in the next season.

Haaland is a strong presence despite scoring much less goals in the previous season. He was above everyone when it came to shots on target, finishing big chances, shots inside the box and shooting as a whole. Managers are confident and sure in keeping him this season in their teams because they believe he will score in almost every match in the league. The striker’s lack of international commitments also means that he will be back early for the pre-season trainings.

Will Haaland be useful at the beginning of the season?

Many FPL managers choose their players based on the first four matches of players. They analyse the situations and gamble their chances most of the times. If we had to analyse the first four matches of Haaland and Man City, it is a roller coaster. Their first game would be against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Last time both these teams faced each other, Haaland scored a brace and assisted a goal and produced 16 points in FPL. History may or may not repeat itself. After Chelsea, they would be facing newly promoted Ipswich Town followed by West Ham and Brentford.
