Gunners very close to sign Spanish Midfielder

Arsenal have made their intention clear about summer transfer window. They will be looking to sign a defender, midfielder and strike. Along with Edu, Mikel Arteta is currently focused on bringing Martin Zubimendi to the Premier League. The gunners were reported to be leading the race for the spanish midfielder. On the other hand, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in Zubimendi too.

Martin Zubimendi has been approached by Barcelona in the recent weeks. Deco who is currently working as sporting director at Barcelona had a meeting with Zubimendi’s agent. Deco expressed his interest in spanish midfielder to his agent in the meeting. However Real Sociedad are angry with Zubimendi’s agent after this meeting.

Above all, Real Sociedad will only sell Martin Zubimendi if they receive €60 million. They have made their intention clear and this pushes Barcelona back in the race to sign him. Barca are currently reported to be in debt and are struggling with their finance. This has given Arsenal an advantage to bring the midfielder to North London.

How close are The Gunners to sign 25 year old Midfielder

According to Football Fancast, Arsenal are already in talks with Martin Zubimendi. The Gunners can make a move soon for the 25 year old midfielder. Following the request from Real Sociedad, Arsenal are willing to pay €60 million for Zubimendi. This can rule Barca out of equation for the spanish midfielder.

On the other hand, Arsenal are frequently rumoured to part ways with Thomas Partey this summer. Signing of Zubimendi can prove as a like for like replacement for Gunners. Zubimendi will be the new partner ro Declan Rice who is currently having a great season. Zubimendi is regular starter for Real Sociedad and has played 31 league games. He has scored 4 goals and also provided an assist this season. His amazing midfield display along with helping in defense has also earned him spot in National team. He would be an amazing addition to Emirates stadium if Arsenal emerge successful in signing the spanish international.
