Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard could be the differentiating factoring handing advantage to the club sign Ryan Kent this summer.
Rangers winger Ryan Kent has been a subject of interest to a number of teams across the English top-flight. Newly promoted sides Fulham, Leeds United, Wolves, and Everton along with Aston Villa are among those interested in the winger.
However, journalist Pete O’Rourke believes the winger could be interested in a reunion with his former manager at Villa Park.
What’s the word on the Aston Villa prospect?
The Rangers winger has a £20m release clause in his contract if he is to leave the club this summer. Moreover, with clubs interested to make a swoop for the player, the complete buyout clause needs to be met.
Though other clubs are interested in the player, O’Rourke spoke to GIVEMESPORT regarding the potential transfer. Moreover, the journalist went on to claim how Villa are at an advantage because of their gaffer.
He said-
“It [Gerrard factor] would give them an advantage over any other team in the Premier League if they do decide to push forward with a deal for Ryan Kent.
“I think Gerrard would love him back, and I’m sure Ryan Kent would really relish the opportunity of working under Steven Gerrard again.”
Kent appeared in 46 matches for the Scottish league outfit and netted three times and provided an insane stat of 20 assists. The winger enjoys the role of a ‘playmaker’ on the pitch providing the passes in the final third.
Moreover, Gerrard would be tempted to have a potential reunion and re-live the Rangers days at Villa Park. Though no official bid has been placed by the club but they are among the favorites to facilitate a transfer.
The race to sign the player is still on and it remains to be seen if Villa places a bid for Kent.
