Gabriel Jesus fires twice as a Gunner

About Football Express UK

Gabriel Jesus scored a brace against Nuremberg in a pre-season game in his debut as a Gunner.

The current Arsenal number 9 got off to a fiery start with two goals. The team netted 5 second-half goals to win 5-3 on Friday. With the Gunners down 0-2, Gabriel Jesus came on as a halftime sub. He immediately got on the scoresheet after lucid one-two gameplay with Eddie Nketiah before heading the winner 18 mins later and wrapping up the game.

Gabriel Jesus might be a good investment for the Gunner club

Jesus arrived from Manchester City this season for a fee of 45 million pounds ($54.10 million). The Brazilian forward has been a proven goal scorer in the Premier League. He was the main target man for the Cityzens in absence of Aguero. But City wanted more from their forward. They went ahead and got hold of two more strikers which meant less game time for the otherwise brilliant Jesus.

Egyptian playmaker Elneny scored the equalizer for 2-2 nine minutes after the restart with a rocket from 30 yards out while two own goals got Arteta’s side their pre-season campaign off to a winning start. Looks like Jesus can help Arsenal bolster their forward department where they’ve been lacking for quite some time now. Arsenal have gone through a flurry of strikers who failed to perform at the club. Lacazette, Aubameyang, and Nicholas Pepe to name a few. All of them arrived at the club with the fans having high expectations for them but none of them were up to the mark. Jesus looks like a perfect fit for the role as he complements the “beautiful football” style of Arsenal pretty well. Also, he played under Arteta when he was the assistant coach for City. Arsenal fans will have high hopes from the Brazilian forward this season.
