Gabriel Jesus could reunite with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal next season

Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are in pole position to sign Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus in the transfer window ahead of the next season.

The City star is set to leave the Blues this summer for a potential move to the North London club. The arrivals of Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland make his stay complicated with the Mancunian side. Moreover, the forward refused to agree on a new deal and is looking for opportunities elsewhere.

Chelsea and Juventus have also been linked with the 25-year-old. The player’s agent is set to meet with the Serie A side later this week.

However, Arsenal are pushing for his move and looking to reinforce the squad with his services.

Despite winning the Premier League, the Brazilian international understands his game time could be further reduced with the likes of the new players. With the World Cup around the corner, Jesus would like to be a starter and maintain consistency to play for Brazil.

A Potential Reunion at Arsenal?

Arsenal have accelerated their transfer plans following the international break, plotting a move for Jesus this summer.

After letting go of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earlier this year and Lacazette, Mikel Arteta would look to invest in Gabriel Jesus. Moreover, the duo has shared a bond back at Manchester City with Arteta as the former assistant manager.

Arteta could be interested to bolster the attack with the likes of Jesus this summer considering a void forming upfront. The club has held talks with the representatives of the player, with Jesus interested in the Gunners’ project.

A potential reunion at the Emirates with the forward and the gaffer could very well be on the cards for the next season. Arsenal fans would be optimistic with the season ahead of them with a competitive team that is being built.
