Forgotten Manchester City youngster Oscar Tarensi on the move

About Football Express UK

Manchester City is ready to sell their academy talent Oscar Tarensi. The left-back is set to return to Spain as the Premier League champions are working on a loan deal with their sister club FC Girona.

This is according to reports coming from Mundo Deportivo via Sports Illustrated. Oscar Tarensi was never able to cement his place under manager Pep Guardiola and the move could be beneficial for both parties.

The Citizens are currently sitting top of the Premier League with a comfortable lead over their rivals. However, the club is also planning to offload some of its stars in the transfer market and Oscar Tarensi is one of them.

NEVER GETTING A CHANCE

Despite issues in the left-back position, Oscar Tarensi was never able to get into the Manchester City first team. The youngster was not in consideration even after a good performance in the academy.

Oscar joined the Premier League champions back in 2019 from the Espanyol youth academy. Since his move, the left-back has featured in both the U18 and the U23 team for the Citizens.

During his time with Manchester City, Oscar Tarensi have won the U21 Premier League title as well as the English Youth League title. Yet the 19-year-old was not given an opportunity in the main team.

OSCAR TARENSI TO GIRONA

A move to Girona makes sense for all the parties. The Segunda Division outfit is part of the City Football Group. They have often brought in players from their sister club Manchester City. However, for Oscar Tarensi, the move will help him get valuable playing time under his belt in his homeland.

Manchester City is close to finalising a loan deal for Oscar. This deal could be over by the time of reading. While details are not known about the loan, the player could join Girona permanently at the end of the deal.

With just 10 days to go for the transfer window to close, there could be more departure from the blue side of Manchester. Ferran Torres was the first to leave the club, with Oscar Tarensi close to a loan move. There are also rumours about Oleksandr Zinchenko and academy star James McAtee for a possible departure in January.
