Football Pundit tips Manchester City to win Premier League again

Manchester City

Football Pundit Paul Merson has tipped defending champions Manchester City to win the Premier League title again in his top four predictions.

The Cityzens have won the title two times consecutively and will look to defend their crown in the forthcoming season. Last season, Liverpool lost the title to the Cityzens in the final matchweek in a dramatic win by the latter.

Moreover, Chelsea secured the third spot while Tottenham sealed their Champions League spot pipping rivals Arsenal to the fourth place. With the new season set to commence in a few weeks’ time, Paul Merson has made his top four predictions.

Merson backs Manchester City to win League title

City have made some impact signings in the transfer window that has made them the favourites to clinch the title. Having signed Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, and Kalvin Phillips, the Cityzens surely seem to be in a great space.

Merson spoke with Sportskeeda and gave his opinion regarding the upcoming season. He said-

Erling Haaland’s arrival is obviously a massive boost for Pep Guardiola, but it’s not the end of it with Liverpool still very much in the running.

The only worry for Liverpool, on the other hand, is that they’ve lost an unbelievable player in Sadio Mane, who scored big goals for them over the years.

If Jurgen Klopp can get Nunez firing immediately, it’ll be tight once again, but if that doesn’t happen, I think Manchester City should win the Premier League.

Further elaborating on the chances, the other clubs may have ahead of the new season, he said-

Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea pick themselves as the top three in whatever order.

I’ll put Manchester United in the reckoning for a place in the top four because they are a massive club.

But they haven’t done enough business at this point in time to stand a chance of securing Champions League football. So, it should be between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Clearly, the pundit has made some interesting remarks, however, only time will tell if the predictions come out true.
